Seat Ibiza most unreliable supermini (UK)
The Honda Jazz is the most reliable supermini on sale, while an incredible 48% of Seat Ibizas suffer faults, according to Warranty Direct. Warranty Direct based its findings on the results of its 50,000 UK policies that cover cars between the ages of 4-7 years old. The firm discovered that just 10% of Jazzes suffered a problem.
In second place was the Toyota's Yaris (13% incident of fault) followed by the Ford Fiesta, with 17% of all cars covered by the warranty provider suffering a failure.
Worst for reliability was the Seat Ibiza with 48% suffering a fault, 40% of which was suspension related. The Spanish car maker has yet to issue a statement but has already responded by carrying out an investigation into the warranty firm's claims. An insider has said that close attention will be paid to the sample size of the study.
As well as listing the average failure rate, Warranty Direct also listed the average cost of repair for a failure as being £208.99 in the supermini class. The third place Fiesta did well, costing less than half the average to fix at just £91.
Volvo C30 & C70 facelift pricing announced (UK)
Volvo has announced the new C30 range will kick off from £14,495 for the 1.6S - £1,000 cheaper than the '09 MY C30 entry-level 1.6 S, while the convertible C70 starts from £25,995 - with a £700 increase excluding the flagship model. The 1.6 SE and 1.6 R-Design have gone up by £750 to £16,245, the mid-ranking 2.0D SE has increased by £515 to 18,095 and the range-topping T5 R-Design now costs £20,235 - a £250 increase.
The C30 will be available in either S, SE, SE Lux and R-Design trims with the choice of six engines, including the efficient 108bhp 1.6 litre diesel that, thanks to the firm's DRIVe technology and the addition of stop/start, emits 99g/km CO2. Entry-level S trim includes electronic climate control, leather steering wheel & gearknob and alloy wheels.
The bigger C70 is available in just the S, SE and SE Lux trims with the choice of two diesels and two petrols. The base S comes with climate control, 16" wheels, cruise control and a premium sound system.
The £700 increase takes the cost of the entry-level 2.0D S to £25,995 and the best-selling D5 SE to £29,995. The price of the range-topping diesel D5 SE Lux Premium has increased by only £50, while the T5 SE Lux Premium is now £33,595 - £280 cheaper than the '09 MY C70.
Both revised Volvos go on sale in January 2010.

The car started as a rust free Texas car initially sold at Bill Beene Ford in Comanche Oklahoma. This car spent almost all it’s life in Texas and the sheet metal definitely shows this to be true.
Body
The car was initially stripped down to the shell and also stripped down to bare metal. The rear panel was replaced with a NOS replacement and also the fenders were replaced with NOS Ford replacements.
The Mach’s body was worked for many many hours to assure great lines and is laser straight. All body panels were mocked up before work to assure a much better fit than from the factory. Once all the sanding and blocking was done the car was painted with quality products from PPG, then sanded and buffed to what you see today. All the trim including all the window, Mach I and rear is original to the car and was restored and polished by a local professional polishing company. Many NOS parts were used to finish the body including the honeycomb bezel, rear taillight bezels, front rock guard and headlight bezels. All the rest of the pieces, door handles, running light bezels, etc. are new.
Drivetrain
Let’s start with the engine and engine compartment. Under the hood is a highly detailed restoration with proper markings and other details. Included with the original restored Shaker assembly is also the snorkel, S Tube and Heat shield. This car comes with it’s original radiator, fan assembly, fan shroud, and all pulleys.
The engine is a NOM 428 block bored thirty over. The pictures will point out the additional webbing which indicates it’s authenticity. On top of a correct Cobra Jet intake is the original 4V Automatic with A/C carb. This motor is completely fresh and built right in our shop.
The transmission is the original numbers matching C-6 big in big out transmission that has been fully restored and shifts great.
The rearend assembly is also the original numbers matching nodular 31 spline with 3.00 gear. All other components (driveshaft, transmission components, etc.) have been fully restored to the highest quality.
Undercarriage and Suspension
The underneath of this car is fully restored. Now we didn’t paint this car with red oxide primer and overspray everywhere. This was not the look we were going for. We had already painted the car with base clear so why should we do a bad job of detailing just because the factory did. We did take great measures to leave as much of the undercoating that was applied underneath but went with a very durable black paint called hot rod black. The underneath and suspension were totally restored and shows a lot of detail. This car came originally with Deep Dish Sport wheel covers which will come with the car but now rides on a set of NOS 14 inch Magnums.
Interior
No detail was left out of the Deluxe interior either. From the restored A/C heater plenum and all dash pieces. The AM/8 Track radio was sent out and restored so that it would be cosmetically and physically functional. We restored the center console with great care to also include the factory flocking inside the compartment. The gauge and clock panels were restored back to it’s original shine with a process that would bring the chrome highlights back to its original shine unlike most that are just painted silver. The A/C heater controls were put thru the same process. All new floor insulation and carpet, new seat covers new headliner and new professionally restored seat belts with correct date coding. The car also comes with completely new tinted glass and new quarter window framing.
In Closing
From top to bottom this car has been meticulously restored and was given every effort to restore it at a high standard. The detail in this car is just breathtaking and can only be appreciated up close. We have provided a very large number of pictures for you to look at but nothing tells the story like seeing it in the flesh. Please give us a call to set up a appointment for inspection at your convenience.

1954 Fiat 8V Berlinetta- Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:
1954 FIAT 8V Berlinetta Carozzeria Speciale by Rapi
We are very much pleased to offer you this rare and exceptional Fiat 8V Berlinetta with special bodywork by factory designer Rapi and chassis number 000093.
It is part of our collection of six different 8V Siata and Fiat cars, which is already quite exceptional.
A total of only 114 Fiat 8V chassis were build, but about 19 different body types were constructed, all of them by some of the most famous Italian coachbuilders such as Vignale, Zagato, Ghia, Pininfarina and Rapi
History of the car:
- This 8V is in an outstanding original condition, mostly un restored and extremely well preserved. It is a second series by Rapi with the beautiful and unique ‘teardrop’ style body. The aerodynamic lines inspire sport as well as elegance and style.
- 000093 has extremely good history which is fully documented It was first registered on 28/06/1954 with Torino license nr. TO 538972 by no one else them the factory itself, in name of their “dipartimento esperienze”, their experimental department at Lingotto, where they had the race track build on the factory roof. It is uncertain at this point why Fiat kept the car during a period of about 3 years before selling it and what the reason was to keep it in the experimental department. Today, historians have not found out about this interesting element.
So about 3 years later on March 12, 1957 the factory sold the car to its first and only private registered owner, Giusseppe di Italo Vercellina, a pharmacist of then 59 years old and living in the city of Vercelli, not far away from Torino. The car was registered with license nr VC84479.
The documents that come with the car show that Vercellina kept the car until he died in 1971. At this moment, the car was transferred into the names of his children, who reluctantly sold the car in 1973 to finally get out of the estate.
The car ended up in the collection of an important Fiat/Alfa Romeo dealer in northern Italy, Brinobet. In his hands the car participated in the Mille Miglia, was registered with a gold label ASI documents (automotoclub storico Italiano), and got a Fiva international passport.
It stayed in his collection until the year 2002 when I acquired it.
- Condition of the car:
Just fully serviced by an 8V expert, his particular 8V Rapi is in an outstanding original condition, mostly un restored and extremely well preserved. It is probably the best original series 2 Rapi still in existence which adds definitely extra value to the car.
The car never needed any restoration work to the body and retains all it’s original panels. Apart from a paint job long time ago – somewhere in the sixties and not recently !) – no work was done to it, so it still remains as close to originality as one can get. The paint quality is acceptable, but not great and represents what was common to the sixties. Panel fit is excellent, doors lock in with that beautiful sound of perfection. There is absolutely no rust- or rust repairs to be found on this car. All the aluminium trim on the car is original (door and window frames, bumpers, deco’s, etc..) and even the piping and rubber parts are original. The windshield is the (rare) original split window. It has never been replaced which is quite rare as with most of the cars, they have been replaced by a one piece windshield. The side and rear windows are still the original Plexiglas ones and their mint condition tells us all about how good this car was preserved. Time hasn’t even coloured them brown, so they look new. The interior is totally original and surprisingly in excellent condition. Seats, door panels, headliner are all very nice and do not need any work. The dash board is all complete and original with all gauges in perfect working order.
The dash board is complete, totally original again and in excellent condition. All gauges are working well, no extra holes were ever drilled. The odometer shows a mere 18.000 km, and looking at the condition of the car, it would be hard to think that it did turn around already once.
The nice features such as passengers foot rest, decaled seats with the special hand grip to hold when cornering fast, the leather straps for holding tools, all is still there.

1972 Triumph TR6 - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:
Triumph TR6 1972
If you are of a certain age you will know that a TR6 is a really sexy bit of kit. They have a wonderful exhaust note, and the rear of the car used to dip on gear change (just like a big Healey) which indicated a real beast. Fred and I have owned very few for some reason, which we must rectify. At least this car is a start.
This is a home market right hand drive example which enjoys tax free (exempt) status. It is in the right colour (Pimento Red), and has wire wheels and overdrive. Originally these cars were fitted with fuel injection, which had a reputation for being troublesome at the time. There is enough expertise around these days to get over most problems, but the system is not unleaded tolerant I understand, and sorting it can be expensive. This car has the benefit of triple Weber carburetors, which gets over all the problems nicely.
The car has clearly had a restoration in the past. It has very good trim, carpets and hood, and also has the benefit of a full length split tonneau cover. The body and paintwork are also very good, but not perfect, as it is over 12 years since the work was completed. I took the car to a local event last night, and I must say that I did enjoy the trip down memory lane. The engine is strong with good pressures and temperatures. The gearbox and axle are quiet, and the overdrive is working well. Brakes too are excellent. There is an extensive file of previous invoices and MOTs with the car.
If you are looking for a TR6 with a really good specification, in very good order, but at a more than sensible price, then this car could be just for you.
