completed Dead Space Extraction on Normal

yep indeedy, around 8-10 hrs playing time to the end.
pretty easy and only got killed 3 times I reckon, a lot easier that Metroid Prime Trilogy.
BUT thats only on 'Normal' , so I reckon it gets very hard very quickly going up a bit on the level difficulty.....

its a fantastic game though , the controls work well, speed and graphics are brilliant. only couple of times the frame rate slowed in heavy battles.
very immersive story , and pretty creepy if you play it at night with the lights off.

8/10 , buy it ...

Ford owners discard most litter, BMW and Citroen owners come 2nd & 3rd (UK)

Ford drivers drop the most rubbish from cars, according to a report issued by Keep Britain Tidy (KBT).

Of the 6,500 littering incidents recorded by KBT since July, 1,262 were reported to have involved Ford drivers. BMW drivers came out as the second worst offenders, with 318 reports, while Citroen drivers came third with 211 reports.

Regional variations were also significant, with 1,289 reports from the South East and 1,252 from the North West – but just 668 from the West Midlands.

The most common items discarded from cars were cigarette butts and fast food wrappers. Nearly 2,000 bags of rubbish are dumped every day on Britain's roads, according to KBT.

KBT says litter-lout drivers should get a one-point endorsement on their licence, a move that it claims is backed by 81% of people in the UK.

Dickie Felton, from KBT, said: 'Our research tells us the only way to stop some motorists from littering is with the threat of points on their licence and a fine.

We're talking to the Government to try and make it see how big a problem this is.'

A Ford spokesman said: 'We are obviously disappointed to see our customers implicated in this way. However, because Ford has been the market leader in the UK for 30 years, there are many more Fords on the road than any other brand, therefore you would expect Ford to be at the top of any survey carried out in this way.'

"Hyundai is awesome" - Honda CEO

Honda’s CEO, Takanobu Ito has said he sees Korean manufacturer, Hyundai as a huge threat to the future of Japanese automakers.

The Korean firm has seen strong sales growth across the world in the last few years and it is currently the top selling manufacturer in the UK for retail sales.

“Hyundai is awesome,” said Takanobu. “They are undoubtedly a threat because their products are cheap, and the quality is improving.”

Hyundai and its sister firm Kia have been successful across Europe and America in various scrappage incentive schemes. Models such as the i10 city-car, i20 supermini and i30 small family car have proven extremely popular in Europe. The Accent, Elantra and Veracruz have been very popular across North America.

Takanobu’s comments have also been echoed by designer Shiro Nakamura from Nissan.

“Hyundai is the biggest threat for the Japanese automakers. They have the technology but they seem to have cheaper labour.”

1979 Aston Martin V8 Oscar India - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Announced in April 1972, the AM V8 is an extensively modified version of the DBS V8 which was announced in September 1969. Externally, the grill was entirely new, no longer sweeping across the complete front but now tailored between the headlamps reminiscent of the earlier six cylinder models such as the DB3S. The engine, was by then the well tried and tested all alloy V8 designed by Tadek Marek that had made it's first appearance in January 1967 at the Racing Car Show in London and raced by Lola in their Type 70 Mk III GT. The AM V8 series III was introduced in London in August 1973. The important mechanical difference was the replacement of the Bosch fuel injection system by four twin-choke down draught Weber carburettors. The instrument layout was altered, as were the heating controls.
Towards the end of 1976, the 'S' specification was introduced in what appears to be a rolling production line change; verification is by the letter s at the end of both the chassis and engine numbers. The 'S' stands for stage one tune, and while the alterations may be subtle, some think that the brief 20 month production run of this model marks the high point of V8 design. 1978 was an exciting year for Aston Martin and their owners. In June the Volante was unveiled and a few months later the V8 series IV or "Oscar India" (October Introduction) became available. The revised specification of the series IV included a change in shock absorber settings, leather head lining, burr walnut dash board and door cappings, a discreet integral rear spoiler, carburettor bonnet bulge with the dummy air intake now closed at the front and extensive improvements to the standard air conditioning.

Vehicle History: The service folder that comes with this lovely Oscar India allows first identification of ownership through the first service invoice on file. From marque specialist, R. S. Williams Ltd., it identifies the owner as a Mr Millington of Norbury, London SW16. The car underwent a pre-sale service with RS Williams before moving to its new owner, Graham Green. Service allegiance moved at the same time to Ian Mason where the car was regularly serviced over an ownership covering some 14,000 miles over a period of 10 years. The car then passed to classic car dealers, Hunters in Maidstone, who instigated a thorough overhaul of the bodywork prior to its sale to the current owner. The service history and available MOT certificates would tend to confirm the mileage and the car is presented in very good condition.

Summary: Aston Martin V8's, especially Oscar Indias, are enjoying a vibrant marketplace and improving values. There are only a small number of cars on the market and this represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire a classic Aston Martin that will prove enjoyable and easy to use and will provide the purchaser a sound investment in the current market.

1957 Bentley S1 Continental Two Door Coupe - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Year : 1957
Make : Bentley
Model : S1 Continental
Coachbuilder : Park Ward
Body Type : Two Door Coupe
Colour : Tudor Grey
Trim : Tan Leather

History : Chassis No BC67BG is one of just sixty six right hand drive all aluminium bodied fixed head two door coupes bodied by Park Ward on the S1 Continental chassis. The tremendous success Bentley enjoyed with the R Type Continental continued onto the S Series chassis in late 1955 with a range of new bodies available to collectors. The Park Ward fixed head coupe was originally the brain child of legendary coachwork designer John Blatchley who had been largely responsible for the styling of the R Type Continental by H.J. Mulliner. Six R Type Continental chassis were delivered to the Park Ward works who were then owned by Rolls-Royce.

Blatchley was given the task of styling the four drophead coupes and the two further fixed head coupes on the R Type Continental chassis, a design which was later slightly adapted for the marginally longer S1 Continental chassis. BC67BG is fitted with the later, arguably more attractive rear light configuration, with slightly smaller rear fins. It also benefits from the S1 Continental mechanical upgrades in the form of power steering, the larger 8:1 compression carburetors and the dual braking system, all of which were original fittings in 1957. BC67BG is fitted with the arguably more attractive smaller rear windshield, with larger C posts, giving the motor car a more attractive side profile and overall appearance than the later “wrap around rear window” variants. This particular example has been nicely restored in recent years being repainted in Tudor grey. The interior aspects have also been tended to with a re-trim in tan leather, along with new beige carpets and headlining. The interior woodwork has also been removed and re-veneered to a very high standard. The boot compartment was also re-trimmed at this time, completing the cosmetic upgrades. BC67BG has been fitted with five new radial tyres, is complete with its original handbook and is finished with an un-plundered tool set located in the boot. More recently a modern stereo system has been fitted into the glovebox, whilst the original appearance of the dashboard has been retained with a period stereo fascia. BC67BG is a very nice example of this increasingly sought after model and is one we are very pleased to be offering for sale.

Condition : In excellent condition throughout.

Technical Data : Four speed automatic gearbox, power steering, 6 cylinder in-line configuration engine, 4.9 litres displacement, 4887cc capacity. Drum brakes servo-assisted.

Aston Martin DBS Vantage - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

First shown in September 1967, the DBS was styled by William Towns who had joined the company a year earlier. A development of the DB6, the DBS was initially conceived as a limited production fast two seater and prepared to accommodate the new V8 engine designed by Tadek Marek which had been raced in experimental form in The Lola Aston Martin. To accommodate the width of a V8 engine the steel platform chassis of the DB6 was increased in width by 4 1/2" and the wheel base lengthened by 1" to allow the engine to be lowered behind the front cross member. Although wider than a DB6 by 6" it is both lower by 1 ¼" and Shorter by 1 ½", which gives the car a powerful compact appearance. The standard engine produced 282 b.h.p. whilst 325 b.h.p. was claimed for the Vantage. A de Dion rear axle was fitted with a limited slip differential. The model was in production from October 1967 to May 1972, during which time 787 cars were produced. Almost all manufacturers take their models through a process of development and improvement and the DBS is no exception. As a result, there was a continuous process of development and change throughout the production of the DBS, the most noticeable changes being the deeper spoilers fitted to the later cars and improved ventilation. The most significant improvement occurred with the last fifty cars which were fitted with the ‘dogleg' ZF gearbox as fitted to the subsequent DBSV8. As the eighteenth from the last car built, DBS/5812/R is such a car.

Vehicle History: The original Aston Martin build records show that this car was built with the Vantage engine and, as one of the last 50 DBS's built, it had the "dog leg" ZF 5 speed geabox fitted. It was supplied through dealers, Bowker & Fisher, to J V R Bullough Esq of Carnforth Lancashire. It was sold in 1986 on to a Mr D Muecke when the mileage was 36,839 by HWMotors Limited, the authorised Aston Martin dealer, the car was sold ‘Subject to Report' and the maintenance history shows the work subsequently performed by HWM. By 1990 when the mileage was 50,485, the car was in the hands of Mr Bell of Byfleet who, amongst other work, commissioned the full restoration of the chassis and sills by Aston Martin Lagonda Limited. During the ensuing nineteen years the car has covered only 11,000 miles. In 1993 with the mileage at 56,000, AMOC member Barry France purchased the car, which he was to keep for the next fourteen years covering only 4,000 miles during that period. Together with the almost thirty year record of MOTs and the maintenance records, there is very good reason to believe that the current mileage of 61,000 is original and genuine.

INSPECTION REPORTS:
1986 when the mileage was 36,839 a full inspection was carried out as a condition of sale by HWM Motors to Mr D Muecke. The car was described in the report as being in "Good general condition for the age of the car", the most significant work required being repairing an oil leak to the pinion and the steering rack. The engine compression test showed particularly strong readings.

1992, when in the subsequent ownership of Mr Peter Bell of Byfleet, an inspection report was performed by Aston Martin Lagonda Limited which highlighted the need for chassis and sill repair and a brake overhaul. Mr Bell accepted the report's findings and instructed the factory to carry out the necessary remedial work.

1999 when in the ownership of Mr Barry France, the car was inspected again at the factory as part of a programme offered by the Aston Martin Owners Club. No major faults were discovered and Mr France subsequently proceeded to have all the material points addressed (with the exception of the frayed seat belts which have been replaced recently)

Summary: The ‘four headlight' DBS has become highly valued and evocative of the seventies. A manual car such as this to full ‘Vantage' specification is the most sought after version, appreciated as both collectible and eminently useable on an everyday basis. With its predecessors, the DB4, DB5, and DB6, still commanding up to three times the current value of a DBS for cars of similar condition, this represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a six cylinder Aston Martin from the handbuilt era of the marque.

1939 Bentley 4.25 Ltr - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Year : 1939
Make : Bentley
Model : 4 1/4 Litre
Coachbuilder : Vanden Plas
Body Type : Drophead Coupe
Colour : Smoke Green & Velvet Green
Trim : Red Leather

History : During the late 1920’s and early 1930’s Bentley ran into grave financial trouble and by 1931 Rolls-Royce had stepped in and bought the assets and goodwill of the defunct company and formed a new one, Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd. Rolls-Royce had considered the Bentley marque to be a growing threat to their future success, but following their purchase decided to continue the Bentley name, albeit under their own stewardship, taking the company in an entirely new direction with the creation of the “Silent Sports Car” or Derby Bentley. In 1933 the new Bentley 3 ½ Litre model was released and was an instant success. The combination of effortless power and style met with almost universal praise. It was powered by a developed twin carburettor version of Rolls-Royces own 20/25 model and was installed in a low 126 inch wheelbase chassis that basically remained unaltered until the cessation of production in 1939 due to the outbreak of hostilities. Synchromesh was present on third and fourth gears and the Derby’s were fitted with a cross flow cylinder head and superb servo assisted brakes, encapsulating all of the perfection of Rolls-Royce engineering in this small sporting Bentley. Fitting of individual coachwork by approved body builders continued in true Rolls-Royce fashion giving potential buyers a great deal of choice in the look of their new motor car. 1936 saw further improvements with the introduction of the 4 ¼ Litre model when production of the 3 ½ Litre unit ceased. Steady development continued throughout the cars production and in late 1938 even more power was obtained when the overdrive models were introduced, which were known as the MX/MR series cars.

The original Bentley sales literature outlined the key improvements that improved the overdrive cars performance which included the provision of an overdrive gearbox which would allow the car to attain a greater maximum speed without exceeding maximum engine revolutions. The steering was of improved design, providing greater control under all conditions. Modified gear ratios and slight engine modifications also improved acceleration under certain conditions. The slower running engine coupled with the over drive top gear resulted in greater silence and smoothness. And finally centralised chassis lubrication and automatic shock absorbers with over-riding hand control were fitted. The MX/MR models were truly the ultimate incarnation on the Derby chassis and are still very much sought after some seventy years on. Just two hundred chassis examples were created, finding their way to lucky owners with a variety of coachwork designs, and one of the most desirable of all was the drophead coupe coachwork by Vanden Plas who were based in Hendon north London.

The beauty and elegance of chief designer John Bradley’s creations are still very much admired today and we are pleased to be able to offer one of just sixteen original Vanden Plas drophead coupes on the overdrive chassis for sale at this time. Chassis No B105MX has been part of a small collection of high quality Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars for the past twenty five years where it has enjoyed a great deal of restoration works, including a new ash frame. Although it is an older restoration it still presents beautifully both cosmetically and mechanically as it has been sparingly used over the past two decades, whilst being carefully maintained and cared for. The stylish coachwork is finished in smoke green and velvet green with a black hood and presents very well. The gently patinated but very sound red leather interior is complemented by beige carpeting bound in red leather. The walnut dashboard and door cappings are also remain in good condition. Frank Dale & Stepsons have maintained B105MX in recent years and prepared the car thoroughly in our workshops prior to the car being entered into a prestigious rally in the later part of 2008. The works included a thorough service and full mechanical check. A new stainless steel exhaust system was also fitted along with attention being given to the braking system, which included the relining of the brake shoes. B105MX is a very nice example of this rare and much sought after overdrive model and one that we are very pleased to offer for sale.

Condition : An older restoration still in very good condition.

Technical Data : Four speed manual gearbox, 6 cylinder in-line engine, 4.25 litres displacement, 4257cc capacity. Servo-assisted brakes.

Actual build date was September 23rd 1969

The car started as a rust free Texas car initially sold at Bill Beene Ford in Comanche Oklahoma. This car spent almost all it’s life in Texas and the sheet metal definitely shows this to be true.

Body
The car was initially stripped down to the shell and also stripped down to bare metal. The rear panel was replaced with a NOS replacement and also the fenders were replaced with NOS Ford replacements.

The Mach’s body was worked for many many hours to assure great lines and is laser straight. All body panels were mocked up before work to assure a much better fit than from the factory. Once all the sanding and blocking was done the car was painted with quality products from PPG, then sanded and buffed to what you see today. All the trim including all the window, Mach I and rear is original to the car and was restored and polished by a local professional polishing company. Many NOS parts were used to finish the body including the honeycomb bezel, rear taillight bezels, front rock guard and headlight bezels. All the rest of the pieces, door handles, running light bezels, etc. are new.

Drivetrain
Let’s start with the engine and engine compartment. Under the hood is a highly detailed restoration with proper markings and other details. Included with the original restored Shaker assembly is also the snorkel, S Tube and Heat shield. This car comes with it’s original radiator, fan assembly, fan shroud, and all pulleys.

The engine is a NOM 428 block bored thirty over. The pictures will point out the additional webbing which indicates it’s authenticity. On top of a correct Cobra Jet intake is the original 4V Automatic with A/C carb. This motor is completely fresh and built right in our shop.

The transmission is the original numbers matching C-6 big in big out transmission that has been fully restored and shifts great.

The rearend assembly is also the original numbers matching nodular 31 spline with 3.00 gear. All other components (driveshaft, transmission components, etc.) have been fully restored to the highest quality.

Undercarriage and Suspension
The underneath of this car is fully restored. Now we didn’t paint this car with red oxide primer and overspray everywhere. This was not the look we were going for. We had already painted the car with base clear so why should we do a bad job of detailing just because the factory did. We did take great measures to leave as much of the undercoating that was applied underneath but went with a very durable black paint called hot rod black. The underneath and suspension were totally restored and shows a lot of detail. This car came originally with Deep Dish Sport wheel covers which will come with the car but now rides on a set of NOS 14 inch Magnums.

Interior
No detail was left out of the Deluxe interior either. From the restored A/C heater plenum and all dash pieces. The AM/8 Track radio was sent out and restored so that it would be cosmetically and physically functional. We restored the center console with great care to also include the factory flocking inside the compartment. The gauge and clock panels were restored back to it’s original shine with a process that would bring the chrome highlights back to its original shine unlike most that are just painted silver. The A/C heater controls were put thru the same process. All new floor insulation and carpet, new seat covers new headliner and new professionally restored seat belts with correct date coding. The car also comes with completely new tinted glass and new quarter window framing.

In Closing
From top to bottom this car has been meticulously restored and was given every effort to restore it at a high standard. The detail in this car is just breathtaking and can only be appreciated up close. We have provided a very large number of pictures for you to look at but nothing tells the story like seeing it in the flesh. Please give us a call to set up a appointment for inspection at your convenience.

Fiat 500 launched in Brazil (BR)

Fiat debuted the 500 city-car in Brazil as it was presented to the media prior to the market release later this month. Before December 2009, the 500 will spread throughout Latin American, as it will be launched in Colombia, Barbados, Panama and Jamaica. The car is already sold in Argentina, Chile, Curacao, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Saint Martin and Paraguay.

For the Brazilian market, the 500 will be available in two trim levels, Sport and Lounge. There will be only one engine available, the 1.4 litre, 100bhp 16v petrol mated to either a 6 speed manual or a 5 speed Dualogic semi-automatic transmission.

To adapt the car for the country's requirements, the 500 was revised and received new suspension with increased flexibility of both the spring and the shock absorber. On the safety front, 500 comes with twin front, side and a driver knee airbag, ABS with EBD, ESP and hydraulic brake assistance. Just to put in into perspective, Fiats larger but cheaper Palio Weekend supermini doesn't come with airbags as standard.

For the near future, it is rumoured Fiat will use its alliance with Chrysler to assemble the 500 in Mexico. The car will be bound for both North and South America from as the 500 will be, for now, the only car to wear the Fiat badge in the U.S.

So far, the 500 has proven to be a hit, with over 390,000 orders received for it to date. At the end of June 2009, Fiat reported that the car was selling better in overseas markets than in the domestic ones. At the time, 54% of the models rolled off the assembly lines where delivered in various countries across Europe. The percentage is expected to increase as the Fiat 500 flies into North and South America.

Subaru Justy & Impreza WRX to be dropped (UK)

Subaru is to axe its Impreza WRX, Justy supermini and its two-wheel-drive technology in a bid to stick to what it believes is its core values.

The Japanese car manufacture will now run down its stocks of two-wheel-drive cars and its deleted models that are expected to run out in Spring 2010. From then on, Subaru will be selling the STi only and in a bid to stick to what it does best will be producing more hardcore performance cars with power outputs of 350bhp and more.

The company says it will be working alongside Prodrive to offer more high-performing Impreza models along the lines of the fire-breathing STi 330S. The Impreza diesel is already in the showrooms but Subaru expects to produce oil-burner with greater power outputs in the future. A twin-turbo diesel is expected but Subaru wants to see how well the existing diesel performs before introducing a twin-turbo.

success! H6 to I4 firmware O2 UK Samsing I7500 using NPS

I backed up my installed apps to sd card using Astro first.

uninstalled the previous NPS
downloaded the new NPS
still wouldnt recognise the phone , no options in the upgrade dropdown WTF !
Anyway I manually uninstalled (via AddRemovePrograms in Control Panel) , NPS AND all the associated drivers one by one.
then restarted PC and reinstalled NPS
This time it worked!
only mode available is upgrade (i.e. the rest of the software is useless , you cant even backup!)

phone restarted just fine.
I have not done a reset yet
As reported in the forums the keyboard has changed , and for me it was no longer popping up when trying to create a text message (at this point I got worried).
However going into Gmail and creating a message and it started to work :-)

this may not be an issue if you reset the phone after the upgrade.
All data remained including apps.
I4 has the new switchers widget to toggle settings
Be interesting to see how the battery life is now .....

Mini decides not to sell MMC (UK)

Mini will not sell Mini Mission Control to UK buyers, which is only available on the special-edition 50 Camden. So what is it? It’s a wacky in-car voice system that talks to drivers and gives advice and puns on the move.

MMC includes 1,500 pre-recorded messages that range as wide as warnings for undone seatbelts to cheeky comments about cornering speeds.

Although Mini had earlier indicated that the 50 Camden would be sold in the UK with Mission Control, it has now decided not to.

“There are worries that it doesn’t fit with our brand image in the UK and might just disturb some drivers. Although there’s still a chance we could reconsider our decision,” says Mini.

During a test demo in Munich, the quips flowed free and fast and it’s easy to see why the system could wind-up drivers. The UK is the second angriest nation in Europe, after Portugal.

Although the concept of a car with ‘personality’ talking to the driver in a friendly and funny manner also brings a smile to the face.

Unprompted conversational gambits from the computer include “Mini won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1968” while others encourage drivers in traffic to use the fuel-saving stop-start system.

All the comments have been voiced by actors, all-English speaking, so 50 Camdens sold elsewhere in the world will all get the English language version.

Porsche to launch convertible Panamera?

Porsche will launch a convertible version of its Panamera saloon, according to reports from Germany.

Company sources reportedly claim the convertible version of the Panamera will have just two-doors to try and keep its weight down and to maximise rigidity but it will retain much of its space in the rear.

The roof is likely to be a soft-top seen on Porsche’s other models, rather than a retractable hard top. It will reportedly cost €11,000 (£10,100) more than the saloon.

Porsche has not officially given the green-light for the Panamera convertible, although development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer hinted that more Panamera variants were possible.

“We have a broad range of 14 derivatives of the 911 that are very successful,” he told German media. “So it stands to reason we should diversify the line-up for the Panamera as well.”

Major car firms pull-out of Bologna

Organisers of the Bologna motorshow in Italy have vowed to carry on with hosting the show, despite there being no major manufacturers exhibiting.

Fiat pulled out of its home show on 22nd September and all remaining manufacturers had followed suit by 2nd October.

Giada Michetti, from the show’s organisers Promotor International, said: “On 2nd October, the largest part of the foreign automakers that had previously said they would participate in the show canceled their participation.”

Last month’s Frankfurt motorshow wasn’t attended by firms including Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi, while the only non-native manufacturers at Tokyo will be Caterham, Lotus and Alpina. Next year’s British motorshow has also been cancelled.

The Bologna show has been cut from nine to five days and will now feature auto exhibits and competitions, including an exhibition of Ferrari’s Formula One car.

Congestion Charge set to rise (UK)

The London Congestion Charge will increase from £8 to £10 per day from next year, London Mayor Boris Johnson said today.

Mr Johnson said: 'Nobody wants to make an announcement such as this, especially when Londoners are feeling the effects of the recession.'

He also said that while Transport for London would make savings of £5 billion pounds through efficiency measures, the Congestion Charge and fares for public transport would also need to be increased.

Mr Johnson said: 'The mistakes of the past and the current economic climate have conspired to present us with a huge financial challenge. Alongside the daily increase in charges, a new account system, CC Auto Pay, will be introduced to make it easier for customers to pay the charge and avoid fines.

Those paying through this system will be charged £9 a day to enter the charging zone. Mr Johnson said: 'Once introduced, drivers registering for CC Auto Pay can rest assured that they'll never receive a penalty charge again.'

After a consultation process in 2008, Mr Johnson said he was considering the removal of the western extension of the Congestion Charging zone.

Public support was overwhelmingly in favour of scrapping the extension, although a further three-month consultation began this week, and only when this is completed can the proposal be confirmed.

• Congestion on London's roads damages business and costs about £2 billion in lost time.

Reviews:
Sir Mix-a-Lot, the rapper who famously praised big butts, must have been reading Porsche's mind. The new 911 Carrera 4 with all-wheel drive sports an extra 1.7 inches of rump. It's a fashion statement, an engineering solution, and an anticipation of customer enthusiasm for the wide-body look wrapped into two curvaceous Carreras. The fat rear fenders are standard on the C4, whether you opt for the 325-hp edition or the 355-hp S we had the joy of flinging down Monte Carlo Rally roads in the French Alps.

Reviews:
I didn't get it to this speed, mind you, but due to its stability at “slightly higher” than the posted limit I can't see why it wouldn't feel anything but rock steady with added downforce. Pushing it forward is the same Toyota-sourced 1.8-liter four-cylinder as last year's car, complete with Lotus' own engine management system that boosts output to a respectable 190 horsepower. Yes, it doesn't sound like much, and its 138 lb-ft of torque is no doubt even less intimidating to Porsche 911 or Ferrari F430 owners, but a slick shifting six-speed manual and its aforementioned ultra light weight – 1,984 pounds in base trim – turns it into a supercar off the line, and when it comes to tackling the corners it often leaves larger, more powerful sports cars far behind.

It's no secret that few cars come close to matching the Elise's balance on the road or track. It can get a little unwieldy if you're caught napping or simply don't know what you're doing, as its tail loves to wag when pushed beyond its limit of adherence and countersteering measures need to be added quickly. When a little opposite lock is dialed in, mind you, it reacts so perfectly that you'll probably find yourself looking for that point of least resistance more often than not.

1938 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Open Tourer - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Year : 1938
Make : Rolls-Royce
Model : Phantom III
Coachbuilder : H.J. Mulliner/Hooper
Body Type : Open Tourer
Colour : Red over Black
Trim : Black Leather

History : In 1936 Rolls-Royce made their first move away from the highly successful six cylinder engine with the introduction of the Phantom III. For the first time in nearly three decades Rolls-Royce chose to power their new model with a V12 engine following several years of development. The new V12 engine was fitted with overhead valves and was capable of producing very impressive performance figures, especially when taking into account the sheer size and weight of the finished motor car. Speeds well in excess of 80mph were well within this powerful models grasp. The four speed manual gearbox was fitted with synchromesh on gears two, three and four and was very simple to operate. By 1938 two major improvements were implemented with solid adjustable tappets replacing the hydraulic units fitted in the earlier cars. Overdrive also became a standard and very welcome addition. The Phantom III was the last large Rolls-Royce produced prior to the outbreak of hostilities in 1939, with little more than 700 chassis rolling off the production line. Buyers had a vast range of coachbuilders to choose from, with a wide range of coachwork styles available. Chassis No 3DL102, which we are currently offering for sale, was delivered new to industrialist Theodore Cozzika in 1938, fitted with saloon coachwork with division by H.J. Mulliner of Chiswick London. Following Mr Cozzika’s ownership the car returned to London and was sent to the royal coachbuilders Hooper in 1950 where it was adapted into an open tourer at the request of the then owner, His Majesty the King of Greece. 3DL102 is believed to be just a three owner car as the previous owner purchased the car in 1960 from the Greek royal family and kept it in his private collection of cars for several decades. This handsome Phantom III was subject to a complete engine re-build in recent years by a highly respected marque specialist, which took place over a three year period between 1999 and 2002 resulting in a show condition engine bay with outstanding V12 on road performance. The engine is exceptionally quiet and is almost impossible to hear when in a stationary position. Its performance whilst in operation is quite exceptional, with a great deal of power at the driver’s disposal, complemented by smooth and effortless transmission through the gears. It comes fitted with a single side mounted spare wheel, twin flag masts and two occasional seats in the rear compartment. This superb motor car is in excellent cosmetic condition having been recently re-trimmed in the finest leather. The woodwork, bright work and coachwork are also in excellent order. It is complete with a large history file documenting the cars maintenance and restoration schedule. 3DL102 is an outstanding Phantom III in restored condition and ready for the next owner’s immediate use.

Condition : In outstanding condition in every respect.

Technical Data : Four speed manual gearbox, 12 cylinder V-configuration engine, 7.3 litres displacement, 7338cc capacity. Servo-assisted brakes.

Production Honda CR-Z to be hybrid only

Honda has ruled out any chance of fitting the forthcoming CR-Z with anything other than a hybrid powertrain.

The small sports coupé, which echoes the CR-X of the ‘90s, is expected to be launched with a 4-cylinder 1.5 i-VTEC petrol engine with around 120bhp, linked to a 14bhp electric motor.

But Honda is definite that the CR-Z will remain a inspiration for green technology and has no plans for a sister model with a conventional combustion engine, despite the car targetting at the Mazda MX-5 and Volkswagen Scirocco.

“This will definitely only be a hybrid. The whole direction of Honda is hybrids and this car is designed all around a hybrid powertrain. The car isn’t boring; it is responsive and fun.”

The CR-Z uses a shortened Insight platform, combining Jazz and Civic parts and is fitted with a 6 speed manual gearbox.

The CR-Z is expected to cost around £18,000 when it arrives in the UK Summer 2010. A pre-production model will debut at the forthcoming Tokyo motorshow.

Kia to launch a coupé by 2011

Kia is planning to launch a sporty front-wheel-drive coupé within the next two years, according to a senior Korean source.

The Korean firm plans to have a car in every major sector within the next five years. One of those cars will be a sports coupé, which would be based on the Cee’d platform and is currently in the early stages of development.

“At the moment we’re concentrating on further establishing the brand as a serious player in the UK but we’ve got ambitious plans for the future.”

The new coupé is likely to be displayed at a major motorshow within the next 18 months, possibly at Paris next autumn or at Detroit in early 2011.

The Kia Kee Concept from 2007 hints at a possible design direction the production coupé may take. The car has been designed by Kia’s European design chief, Peter Schreyer, and it is said to have met with approval from top Korean executives.

Sister firm Hyundai has confirmed its intentions to put the Veloster concept — a front-wheel-drive coupé based on the i30 — into production within the next two years. The Kia coupé would be priced between £15,000 and £20,000 as a direct rival to the Veloster and to undercut the Peugeot RCZ and Audi TT.

Dodge brand to be axed (EU)

The Dodge brand is likely to be dropped from the Chrysler Group’s European line-up as part of Fiat’s new plans for the company, to be announced in mid-November.

Dodge was launched in Europe in 2006 but failed to match Chrysler’s ambitions for it. Just under 4,000 Dodge vehicles were sold in the UK in 2008. At the same time, the Chrysler brand is to be moved upmarket. In its prime in the U.S, it was considered a more prestigious brand than Chevrolet and Ford.

Chrysler also plans to use the RAM nameplate as a brand for its commercial vehicles. This will allow the company to separate them from the Dodge line-up, whose performance credentials it plans to further develop.

As part of this strategy, Dodge will develop new models in concert with Alfa Romeo, despite the American brand’s planned withdrawal from Europe.

Current BMW 5 Series production to end this year?

According to a recent report, BMW will end production of the current 5 Series (E60) in December. While this is sooner than expected, it seems logical since the Dingolfing factory will be closed for the holidays and retooling for F10 production will take several months.

Sources also report that dealers will only accept special orders for the 5 Series. The remaining production run will likely be an assortment of moderately equipped cars, destined to become dealer inventory.

If the reports are correct, the new BMW 5 Series will likely be launched after the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.

Peugeot 5008 pricing announced (UK)

Peugeot has confirmed its new 5008 MPV will cost from £16,895 when it goes on sale in January.

Five engines will be offered in the range; two 1.6 litre petrols (120bhp with a 5 speed gearbox and a 150bhp turbo with a 6 speed gearbox, both are manuals) and three diesel units; 1.6 litre, 110bhp HDi with either 6 speed manual or 6 speed clutchless semi-auto (EGC) and a 2.0 litre turbo-diesel with either 150bhp or 163bhp with a 6 speed manual or automatic.

Three trim levels (Active, Sport and Exclusive) are available and all models come with Peugeot's Multiflex interior, that includes seven seats, second row of which folds flat and the third row can be hidden below the floor. Alongside the Multiflex interior, ESP, Michelin energy saving tyres, air-conditioning, electronic parking brake w/ Hill Assist and electric front windows & mirrors are standard.

Sport models get 17" alloys as standard, as well as an Aluminium Pack (which features new trim for the front grille, front fog lights and chrome detailing), interior lighting pack with removable torch, Storage Pack (under seat and footwell storage), cruise control w/ limiter, leather steering wheel and front fog lights.

Options include xenon headlamps, leather interior, metallic paint and alloy wheels.

1935 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca Coupe - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Year : 1935
Make : Rolls-Royce
Model : Phantom II
Coachbuilder : Windovers
Body Type : Sedanca Coupe
Colour : Garnet and Burgundy
Trim : Burgundy Leather

History : 1929 saw the arrival of the Rolls-Royce Phantom II which set new standards for others to follow. It was a vehicle specifically designed with the chauffer driven passenger in mind. At the time the only home produced rival to compare with the Phantom II was the Bentley 8 Litre, which was a faster vehicle but was thought to be far less chauffer friendly, with considerably heavier steering and a gearbox which was more difficult to operate. The vast majority of the 1,400 or so Phantom II chassis that were produced between 1929 and 1935 were fitted with four door saloon style coachwork, ideal for a chauffer and his passengers. However a select few were fitted with more stylish coachwork, and in our opinion few came better than Chassis No 197TA which is fitted with a “special” sedanca coupe design by Windovers of Colindale North London. The TA series cars were some of the very last built (only approximately 40 UK series chassis proceeded the TA series cars) and this particular car benefits from synchromesh gears on not only third and fourth gear, but also second gear as well; an improvement that was introduced in 1935. Chassis No 197TA was supplied from Windovers Central London showroom in Conduit Street, Mayfair (they were authorised Rolls-Royce and Bentley agents at this time) to a Captain Francis Francis. We understand that the car became the property of European nobility and was restored to concours condition for them some twenty five years ago (restoration details to follow shortly) It has clearly been sparingly used in the ensuing years as it still presents beautifully in every respect. It became part of one of the world’s most significant collections of desirable automobiles in recent years and was on display in the United States until returning to London quite recently. Chassis No 197TA is fitted with twin side mounted spare wheels, vanity mirrors to the rear compartment and a luggage rack that attached to the rear of the car below the tail mounted trunk. This unique Phantom II presents and drives beautifully and comes highly recommended by all at Frank Dale & Stepsons.

Condition : An older restoration that has been sparingly used and still presents beautifully.
Technical Data : Four speed manual gearbox, 6 cylinder in-line engine, 7.7 litres displacement, 7,668cc capacity. Servo-assisted brakes.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sedan Delivery - Classic Car For Sale (Click Here)

Description:

Well we finally got the 1957 Chevy Sedan BelAir Delivery finished that we have owned for over 18 years. This BelAir Sedan Delivery was rebuilt from the tires up. Chevy did not produce a BelAir sedan delivery, so we decided to turn our model 150 into a BelAir. We did not remove the body from the frame, but we did remove everything else. We started with a 99% Rust Free body. The front floors were a little weak so we replaced them. Both doors, front fenders, and the right rear quarter panel have all been replaced with good clean sheet metal. The body is arrow straight. The dash is stock, even has the stock radio, but has been completely redone with BelAir trim, we did add some aftermarket gauges on a gauge panel mounted under the dash. Rechromed bumpers, new rear tail lights, new grille, new BelAir side trim (over $1,000 just for the side chrome). New Chevy 3 bar spinners on stock hubcaps, new wide whitewall tires. New door rubbers, all new glass except for the rear window. The paint is a beautiful Emerald Green bottom, with Classic White Top. The exterior is absolutely stunning. The interior is beautifully detailed with tri-toned naughyde, white, light green and dark green on the bucket seats. New black carpets, and a new white headliner. Mechanically this car is awesome! 1964 Chevy positraction rear-end, bolted to stock springs. Rebuilt Muncie 4 speed, new 11 inch clutch. Engine is a 301 stroker motor with less than 10 miles on it. Has 2 four barrel WCFB carbs, mallory dual point ignition, super coil, 13-1 compression pistons, Magnum cam, bored 60 over. The list is endless on the motor modifications, and it is beautifully detailed. This car has Hooker headers hooked to new 2 1/2 aluminzed exhaust, and this car does run oh does it run!! The front suspension is completely rebuilt, with all new brakes on all four wheels. No part of this car has been left untouched. We still need to get the front end aligned and do the final polish. We are asking $51,000 for this classic beauty and you will not be disappointed. YES WE HAVE A TITLE FOR THIS CAR! We would take a partial trade of an antique car. Shipping is available worldwide.
